Can't believe it was so simple. I have been through 3 universal remotes, and endless trouble shooting, and your method just solved my problem in 1 minute! Universal remote works great! I am trying to apply that magic solution that seems to be working for everyone.

Check to see if the front of the remote emits ("emit" with one "m") light, which appears white on a cell phone camera. Found this website, vacuumed off the remote control port on the back of the TV and everything works fine.
