Linksys Wrt54g Not Working With Comcast

I hope this resolves the problem permanently. I spend a LOT of time over 3 days trying everything; Phone calls, setting up IP addresses, nothing worked. I have no computer hard wired to router. I think comcast is trying to 'gently' restrict router usage, kind of like they did with torrent flow a few months ago. have a peek here

Their usual sleight-of-hand is as follows: they ask you to plug your computer directly into the modem. After completing the router reset I then unplugged the power cord from the modem until it completely shut down then plugged the power cord back into the modem restarting it. Then, I plugged my Linksys into my Comcast cable box (combination phone & Internet), plugged my computer into the Linksys with everything turned "ON".
