In the back of the box is a small hole the size a paper clip fits into and pushed the reset button and I made contact with the Internet. It's my laptop from work and I am a bit worried about changing settings. How can I reconnect the DSL modem, router and the desktop so that I could get to Lynksys website? search for wireless signals u will find the name that u have give.. have a peek here

I have a little different problem than was posed before. Suggestions? Have a computer that is connected to the router by wire and that one also won't connect to the internet.

Wait for 10 seconds, and turn it back on or plug it back in. If you are still unable to connect, make sure other computers on the wireless network are unable to connect to your interet as well. I connected my modem (comcast) to my wireless router (apple time machine) then connected a ethernet cable from the router to my desk top computer (mac) then connected another ethernet cable Linksys Wrt54g Firmware I have tried to undo everything but have not been successful. Thanks. I did everything from double-checking the connection type, password, manual settings, even restarting the router, re-installing software and everything in between, but nothing worked. This applys to Cable TV and Hughes Sat. Check This Out However, the computer is not a laptop, it's a desktop, and there is no way for me to turn anything on or off.

I tried holding down the rear reset button which apparently made it lose its "protected status" but it didn't fix the problem of the signal getting dropped.

The computer runs Windows XP Professional SP3. Visit http://192.168.1.1/ - this will open up your router configuration panel. The adapter version should be on a label right on the card itself.Reboot your computer after installing the card. I unhooked the router, and hooked the modem back up directly to my computer, and it worked that way.

It finds the SSID but it says limited to no connectivity and I have no internet. Some newer models require both.

So I was dealing with system issues as well and I'm still not quite sure how I accomplished it, but I'm wireless at last! Wasted at least 2 hours on the phone with very un-knowledgeable folks.
