I had stacked the one I was fixing on top of the other one (with the lid closed). This worked for me, and as scary as terminal can be for some, it was actually really easy. It was slower than normal opening up for the first time but now it seems fine and I am so relieved as would have had to pay to get it sorted. The tech said the code just sets your computer to find the last working startup. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who's had problems with the keyboard.
