Just be sure to not overheat the brick! Now I have an MBA and a second MagSafe. First you should try these solutions: Reset the battery. Check the ends for any broken connections, such as a MagSafe connector pulling loose or spots that may have gotten chewed by a pet or caught in a vacuum cleaner.
This issue occurs when the AC adapter's "over voltage protection" feature senses ground noise and then turns off the adapter. Don't forget to UNPLUG the adapter before doing this. I warmed both the plug prongs and the square thing and voila! I've got a MBP version where the power button is round, of aluminium and located separate from the rest of the keyboard.
Press the power button to turn on the computer. Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
