Got back home, and same issues. I could move the cursor, click and drag without the Macbook ever freezing and without exerting undue force. Going to replace battery (maybe the trackpad) and save myself hundreds of dollars. Do you want me? navigate here

thanks Clay. Only a mechanical click will do. But it was an expensive solution and I didn't want to spend a fortune on fixing a problem that was not that big a problem most of the times. Apple wanted to charge me $$$ to replace the whole board, but a 2 cent piece of scotch tape fixed it for over a year.
